How early initiatives and actions shape ones future outcomes.
[Just to be clear. I write when I feel like sharing something I learnt throughout my work and personal life. I am just 18 right now and lag in knowledge and experience]
This is 5/6 years back probably, when I was 12/13? I fully don’t recall. I saw this news on TV which was this video right here.
You can check it out, it’s a very short one. Basically a farmer puts moulds of fruits when they are early stage, hence the fruits take these outstanding shapes. These moulds are manufactured by a Chinese company named “Fruit Moulds”. And these don’t have any negative effect on the fruit.
Now the question might be what has this to do with shaping the future. You see, what I feel like, one’s character, morals, ideologies and principles in life start to form from a very early stage. These are like the pillars to being a human being. If you are from a family that had been struggling, you had your fair amount of difficulties to see what the real world struggles feels like. A good touch with reality. Each stage of life has it’s own hurdles. At the exact moment you are in life right now, the problem that might be facing right now. might the biggest issue to you. But eventually when that eradicates from your life you will release, it was a minor issue in regards to what you will face afterwards. Just different levels to a game, but the twist is this game never ends.
Just like how putting moulds around something forced it change the shape of the fruit. Human beings can and should shape themselves from an early stage if there’s the opportunity to do so. A good amount of setbacks will teach you not to be fragile when times are hard. Working with people will teach you a lot about what someone else with a different ideology thinks.
Ray Dalio, Founder of Bridgewater associates wrote his first book “Principles” about his principles on life and building such a massively successful organization. Having a strict dynamic principles (by dynamic I mean principles that can be edited when advised by someone smarter and more knowledge than you, because mostly at a young age we don’t know probabilistically what will have the best outcome ) from an early stage and working on those will surely benefit us in the long run. But again, easier than done.
